Importing audio and notes-only meetings

You do not have to record live to add a meeting to Daisy. You can import an existing audio file to transcribe, or create a notes-only meeting with no audio at all.

Opening the new meeting form

  1. Open the Library.
  2. Click + Meeting to open the New meeting dialog.

In the dialog you can add a Title (optional), pick Tags, and choose to import audio, type notes, or both.

Importing an audio file

  1. Click Choose audio… and select a file. Supported formats are .mp3, .m4a, .aac, .wav, .flac, .ogg, and .opus (for example, an iPhone Voice Memo).
  2. Optionally add a title, notes, and tags.
  3. Click Import & transcribe.

Daisy transcribes, diarizes, and summarizes the file in the background, just like a live recording.

If the file decodes but the audio quality is low, Daisy shows an Audio looks rough notice. Accuracy and speaker separation will be best-effort. Click Transcribe anyway to continue, or Cancel to back out.

Creating a notes-only meeting

  1. Leave the audio field empty.
  2. Type or paste your notes (markdown supported), and optionally add a title and tags.
  3. Click Create.

A notes-only meeting has no audio or transcript, but its notes fold into search and Q&A alongside your other meetings.

Good to know

The dialog's main button changes to match what you are adding: it reads Import & transcribe when an audio file is selected and Create when you are saving notes only. You need at least notes or an audio file before you can save.
