Recording from your calendar
Daisy can show your upcoming meetings and start a recording pre-filled with a meeting's title, attendees, and a tag. It reads calendars through read-only ICS (iCal) links, so nothing about your calendar leaves your machine except the fetch to your provider.
Subscribing to a calendar
- Open Settings and go to the Calendars section.
- Enter a Name (for example, Work or Personal).
- Paste a read-only ICS URL from your provider:
- Google Calendar: Settings → "Secret address in iCal format".
- Microsoft 365 Outlook: Share → Publish → ICS link.
- Apple Calendar: a calendar.icloud.com share link.
- Click Add subscription.
For each subscription you can toggle whether it is enabled, pick a color, and choose an Auto-tag. Recordings started from that calendar's events are automatically tagged with the auto-tag.
Viewing and recording events
Open the Calendar view to see upcoming events:
- Use the Window selector to choose how far ahead to look: Today, 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, or 30 days.
- Click an event to start a new recording pre-filled with its title, attendees (as participants), and the calendar's auto-tag.
- Dismiss an event with the × button to hide it from the list. The dismissal persists across syncs.
Keeping events current
Click ↻ Sync in the Calendar view (or ↻ Refresh now in Settings → Calendars) to fetch the latest events. Refresh runs on demand; for periodic updates, add a system scheduler such as cron or a systemd timer.
Good to know
Deleting a subscription clears its cached events immediately. Recordings you already started from its events keep their calendar link — the leftover reference is harmless.
