Re-running the setup wizard
The setup wizard walks you through the choices Daisy needs to record and process meetings. You can run it again any time to change providers, your default microphone, or your voiceprint preference. Existing settings are pre-filled, so clicking Continue through an unchanged screen does nothing.
What the wizard covers
On a first run, the wizard starts with the basics and then moves through each capability:
- Welcome — your name (used so summaries address you as "you"), the profile folder where Daisy saves your data, and a checkbox to check for new versions automatically (notify-only — it never installs anything on its own).
- Vault passphrase — encrypts your API keys and voiceprints on disk. There is no recovery, so write it down.
- Default microphone — pick the input Daisy records from.
- Transcription — choose Cloud provider (Deepgram, Groq, or OpenAI), Local Whisper (on-device, no key), or Skip — configure later. Cloud asks for an API key and an optional model. With Deepgram you can also tick Enable per-speaker labels (diarization).
- Summaries and Q&A — choose Cloud LLM (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Groq), Local LLM (LM Studio or Ollama), or Skip — summaries off.
- Voiceprints — shown only when transcription is Deepgram with diarization on. Opt in to be prompted to enroll speakers when you label them.
- Setup complete — a recap of your choices.
Re-running it later
- Open Settings.
- Go to the Profile section.
- Under Re-run setup wizard, click ↻ Open wizard.
When re-run from Settings, the wizard skips the name, profile folder, vault, and microphone-only screens and starts at the transcription question. Each screen is optional — use Skip rest → to leave the rest unchanged.
Good to know
Re-running the wizard never resets your vault or deletes data. It only updates the settings on the screens you change.
