Staying up to date
Daisy checks whether a newer version is available and lets you know with a banner. Updates are notify-only: you download and install them yourself, and Daisy never installs anything on its own.
The update banner
When a new version is found, a banner appears at the top of the app showing:
- The new version number and a note that an update is available.
- The version you are currently on, and the first line of the release notes.
- A Download button that opens the download page in your browser.
- An Ignore this version button, which dismisses the banner and stops it reappearing for that specific version.
To close the banner without ignoring the version, select the dismiss (✕) button; it can return on a later check.
After you select Download, install the new version the same way you installed Daisy. Your data and settings stay in place.
Turn automatic checks on or off
- Go to Settings and open the Behavior section.
- Find Updates.
- Toggle Check for new versions automatically.
When this is on, Daisy checks for updates on launch and periodically while the app is open. Turning it off stops all update-related network traffic.
Good to know
- Checking for updates only asks whether a newer version exists. It never downloads or installs anything by itself.
- Ignoring a version only hides that one version. You will still be notified when a later version is released.
