Setting the transcription language

Daisy transcribes in a language you choose. You can set one default for every meeting, or override it for a single recording when the spoken language differs.

Set the default language

1. Open Settings.
2. Go to the Behavior section.
3. Find Default language and pick a language from the list.

Your choice is saved automatically and applies to every new recording you transcribe.

Override the language for one meeting

When a single meeting was in a different language, you can re-transcribe just that recording without changing your default.

1. Open the meeting.
2. Open the Action menu and choose Set language….
3. In the Recording language dialog, pick the language for this recording. Choose App default to fall back to your Settings default.
4. Click Save & re-transcribe.

Daisy re-runs transcription on that recording in the language you selected. Because the transcript is rebuilt, any summary you generate afterward reflects the new transcript.

Good to know

• The override applies only to the meeting you set it on. Your Default language in Behavior stays unchanged.
• Re-transcribing overwrites the existing transcript for that recording, so allow a minute or two for it to finish.
