Daisy starts with a 30-day free trial, and a license activates the app for ongoing use. Your recordings and transcripts always stay on your own machine, regardless of license state.
First run
The first time you open Daisy, it shows a Terms & Privacy screen with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Check I have read and agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and select I agree — continue before you can use the app.
The free trial
The trial runs for 30 days and needs no credit card. While it's active, a banner across the top shows how many days are left, along with an Activate license option that opens Settings so you can enter a key.
Activate a license
You can activate at any time:
- Open Settings and select About, or select Activate license in the trial banner.
- Paste your license key into the field.
- Select Activate.
When the trial ends, Daisy shows a gate where you can paste a key and select Activate to continue.
View your license
In Settings → About, the License section shows who the app is licensed to and, when set, the expiration date. For security, it does not display your full key — instead it shows a short License ID fingerprint, which is enough for support to match your license without exposing the key itself.
Manage your devices
A license covers up to 3 devices (seats). In Settings → About, select Deactivate this device to free one of those seats so you can use the license on another machine. Your data stays on disk when you deactivate.
Good to know: When the trial ends, Daisy stops recording new meetings, but everything you've already recorded — your audio, transcripts, summaries, and notes — stays safe in your profile folder. Activating a license restores recording and processing.
